Melodifestivalen 2011 - Eric Saade won!

A night I never wanted to end! The best night of my life! Well almost coz the result isn't the ideal. OK. First things first. The winner!

Eric Saade with "Popular" won!

I don't know where to start! Living the final's experience was just AMAZING! Globen was full! There was such a panic after every performance! Needless to say that my two favourites were Linda Bengtzing and Sanna Nielsen! And believe it or not I predicted their 12 points! Sanna got two (for a moment I was glad to be Greek! The greek jury gave 12 points to Sanna!) and Linda got one. But the fun part was after the final! I won't comment the songs one by one coz I liked them all tonight (strange!). The only song that didn't make me get up was Nicke Borg's! I even enjoyed The Moniker's song! This song annoys me but tonight I enjoyed it! To the fun part now!

So after it was over I stayed in the arena until they told us to leave. Just after exiting the arena (I was still in the building but not where the final was held) I saw Joakim Ramsell (Sanna's boyfriend). I thought "he's probably waiting for Sanna" so I stayed there. But he left after a few minutes so I left too. At the exit (of the building this time :P) I saw Lena Philipsson! I was shocked! There were just a couple of her people around her so it was easy to take a photo! Yes! A photo with Lena PH!

I decided to leave but while leaving I found the entrance to the efterfest (party). Some people were there waiting for the artists to arrive, get photos etc. I joined them. And because of that I took 5 photos! :D And I saw many other artists that I didn't really care about. Hehe But I didn't get a photo with Brolle coz he was in a hurry. Actually it wasn't his fault. He stopped to take a photo but there was a guy there who dragged him inside! Duh! And unfortunately I didn't see Linda Bengtzing

First photo with Loreen! We also had a nice 1-minute conversation!
- Hi Loreen! Can we take a photo?
- Sure where are you from?
- From Greece.
- Oh I love Greece!
- You were my winner.
- Oh thanks. You have a really good taste. *laughs*
- I know! Sweden doesn't!
- *laughs*

Hahahaha Amazing Loreen!

Second photo with Shirley's Angels! And at this point I want to really really thank Vera Prada! She and Jessica Merberger arrived together. There were many people there and they had to go inside. Shirley Clamp arrived a minute later but because of the many people asking for autographs and photos their friends and co-workers tried to take the Angels inside but Vera was the one who told Shirley and Jessica to get a photo with me. I guess when they know that a fan isn't from Sweden, they don't want to let them down coz who knows when it will be the next time! So, THANK YOU VERA!

Third photo with Sebastian. Nothing special happened here. Just a photo.
Fourth photo with Måns Zelmerlöw! Again nothing special happened.

Fifth photo with my lovely Sanna Nielsen
Well I wasn't planning to take a photo with Sanna coz I will meet her tomorrow. Ehm today? Whatever! I just stopped her to say "hi".
- Hey Sanna!
- Hey Ifi! You wanna take a photo right?
(again too many people there!)
- No no! Go! I'll do it tomorrow!
- But it's ok. Lotta (a friend of hers) can take the photo.
(could I really say no there? hahaha)
- Thank you Sanna! See you tomorrow!
- *laughs* See you tomorrow!

Adorable or what?

Wow! Just wow! Now that I'm done with the "after final" things (good coz I didn't want to forget the dialogs!) should I go back to the final? Well nothing special comes to mind! I had the time of my life! And time went by soooo fast! :( And somewhere at this point I realise that there won't be any Melodifestivalen next Saturday! It's over! We have to wait another year! This s u c k s ! Really!

Prediction to Eric's outcome in ESC? Well I'm afraid to say top 5 so I will say top 10 but I'm hopping for the best! He will have problem with the vocals AND with the glass! I was there! I saw how long it took them to clean the stage! The 30 seconds in ESC are not enough! But on the other hand maybe they took their time since Eric was the last one to perform. I don't know... I hope they figure something out until then!
And now a question that is everywhere right now. Did the right song win? No! The right song was Loreen's! And if I had to choose another song from the final I said I wanted Linda or Sanna!

No matter what good luck to Eric!

Melodifestivalen 2011 - Final's review

I'm late! Haven't blogged since KDAM on Tuesday and tomorrow is Melodifestivalen's final! So it's time to review the songs of the final. I'll review them according to the final line up.

1. Danny - "In The Club"
Danny. A big favourite for tomorrow's final... Well I like his song but will it work on ESC? I don't know. He repeats the phrase "in the club" about 45 (?) times! This might make people get bored or make the song stick to their minds. I like Danny's performance and he has a nice voice but I don't know...

2. Sara Varga - "Spring För Livet"
Sara made it to the final through andra chansen. Definitely no chances of winning Melodifestivalen. Or better said tiny chances of winning. I really like Sara's song and I wouldn't mind seeing her to Dusseldorf but I don't see her song in the top 10.

3. The Moniker - "Oh My God!"
Another andra chansen finalist. I don't like his song! It's so annoying to my ears. Actually I think his voice makes it so annoying. I just don't like it. I can't believe how people voted for him instead of Linda Pritchard!

4. Brolle - "7 Days And 7 Nights"
Brolle Brolle... I love his music in general but I expected something better. This doesn't mean that I don't like his song but it's not for the ESC. It will be nice to see him tomorrow though.

5. Linda Bengtzing - "E Det Fel På Mej"
My personal winner! Linda's schlager is so different from the regular one. Linda has a somekind turbo schlager! She has so much energy on stage and you can feel that! And I so love her song! It might have quirky lyrics but I love it! All I ask for, if there's any chance of Linda's victory, is to keep the song in swedish. If they don't, they will destroy another swedish entry!

6. Nicke Borg - "Leaving Home"
OK what we have here is the worst possible song for the ESC. If Sweden chooses this, then bye bye final!

7. Swingfly - "Me And My Drum"
After the first semi I said I kinda liked it. Well I still do but I like only the rhythm and the chorus. Kick out Swinglfy and I'm ok with the song. But since that's not gonna happen, I don't want this for Sweden!

8. Sanna Nielsen - "I’m In Love"
My lovely lovely Sanna! I'm in love with "I'm In Love"! Honestly, I don't believe this would work in ESC but after leaving out all the perfect-for-the-ESC songs, Sanna is my second choice after Linda! Sweden lost the chance of winning the ESC with Sanna in 2008! I'm glad that she's back and I want her to keep returning until she wins. I don't know... I do and I don't want Sanna to win. I do want because I like her and her song but I don't want her to win because "I'm In Love" is not an "Empty Room" a.k.a. winning material...

9. The Playtones - "The King"
I was so surprised when they made it to the final but I can see why they are here. They have a totally different song compared to the others this year but this doesn't necessarily means that they can do well in ESC... I don't like but I also don't dislike the song. It's just indifferent to me.

10. Eric Saade - "Popular"
I hate saying this but this is the winner! "Popular" is definitely better than last year's "Manboy" but again it's a song based on backing vocals. Eric will have a big problem in ESC because there he will have to use live backing vocals and not pre-recorded. That means that he will have to change his dancers and put some people who can actually sing and dance. Or he can choose between a great dance or great backing vocals. He definitely can't have both! It will be too hard to find really good dancers who are also really good vocalists. How well will it work in ESC? Well after seeing all this positive feedback and all these horrible entries I believe he can do quite well even with horrible vocals!

Well it's too obvious that the battle will be between Danny and Saade. SVT and Björkman are favouring them with this line up! And I know that Björkman wants Saade to Dusseldorf. So I'm not sure if I'm gonna vote for Bengtzing or Nielsen tomorrow. I will wait to see the reactions in Globen after every performance and of course the jury voting! If either of them has chances of winning I will vote. Otherwise, let it be Saade.

Here is the list of the international juries:

Croatia
France
Germany
Greece
Ireland
Malta
Norway
Russia
San Marino
Ukraine
United Kingdom

Let's see if this year there'll be any difference with the juries. All these years we had both regional juries and international. I hope this change will help Sweden make the right choice even though the right choice called Loreen isn't in the final.

So we are 24 hours away of finding out the swedish entry of 2011! Also 24 hours away from my very first Mello final! :D Finally!

Tomorrow watch live at 20:00 CET here.

Final week! On Saturday is the big final in Globen! For the next 3 days Globen Shopping will turn into a schlager paradise! Check this out and enjoy the last ( :( ) week of Melodifestivalen 2011! And if you wanna focus just on the artists here you go! ;)

ESC 2011 - Updates of the israeli entry

Dana is going to change the song and rework it in the following days in the studio. she might end up doing it a full hebrew song... She also says that all the performance will be changed because she doesn't want it to sound like Diva where she makes the entrance... The song will be more upbeat and might even start with the mid-end of the song (haleili hayam etc etc..)

Thanks to Israeliboy from esctodayforum.com

Fantastic news!!!
Also here is her live performance.

ESC 2011 - Israel's entry

Dana International won KDAM!!!!! She will sing "Ding Dong" for Israel!! I am so excited!! Do I have to say that I give 12 points to Israel? And do I have to say again that Israel is in my all time top 10? Of course not! PERFECT choice Israel!! Especially after seeing Chen scoring so low, Dana had to win! GO DANA!!! Now she can make the changes she wanted to do! I'm sure the final version will be fantastic!

ESC 2011 - Tonight: Israel's NF

Tonight's the night for Israel! At last the NF is here! The line-up:

  • KNOB - Ohev et ze
  • Dana International - Ding dong
  • Hatikva 6 - Hakol sabata
  • Adi Casare - Suicide for love
  • Chen Aharoni - Or
  • Michael Greylsummer - Tu du du
  • Niki Goldstein - Amri itach
  • Sivan Bahnem - Kach oti
  • Adi Cohen - Al alhava
  • Idit Halevi - It's my time
Can't wait!! It's gonna be a great KDAM!  I like all the songs except for Hatikva 6's. But I really hope they send Dana to Dusseldorf or at least Chen. And from what I read it's gonna be between them!

We can watch live here at 20:30 CET.

Ding dong say no more Israel! This is your entry!
